Esme & Owen’s boujee wedding at Venachar Lochside with SEQUINS, SEQUINS, SEQUINS… and did I mention sequins?!

Esme and Owen chose Venachar Lochside for their wedding venue. This is definitely the perfect location for a luxury boujee Scottish wedding surrounded by the Trossachs.

This usually peaceful venue sits by Loch Venachar near Callander and is a top choice if you are looking for some epic scenery with some high end cabins for accommodation!! All within walking distance – perfect for the party to continue into the wee hours of the morning🥂💃🏻.

From the moment I met Owen and Esme, I knew to expect a fun and unique day!!

The story of their engagement included a confetti gun, not a mere canon, but a gun which fires not one but 3 mega confetti explosions and they did not disappoint on their wedding day, ensuring that same gun was fired as they walked down the aisle.

I am sure you will agree that Esme looks like an utter badass in her custom-made gold sequin dress from the epic Isolated Heroes!! Owen wore the most gorgeous suit with a surprise outfit change for him and his groomsmen for the evening.

Esme’s bride’s people wore the most epic sequin outfits I have ever seen, all different colours and it really was the sparkliest most colourful day I have ever had the honour of photographing 📸 .

How the day unfolded

Fully embracing my #beyonotthem approach to photographing your wedding day – Esme and Owen decided they wanted a quiet morning getting ready together. With that in mind I arrived late in the morning to start the day with group photographs!!

Contrary to a traditional timeline, they asked their closest friends and family to arrive early for group photographs before their ceremony, which was to be kept as easygoing as possible.

This allowed guests to make a leisurely entrance, and enjoy an afternoon outdoor ceremony which was kept intentionally short – this wedding was all about the after party. Although it definitely warmed up at the ceremony as they walked down the aisle to Florence and the Machine – with timed confetti canons fired by guests 🎉🎉🎉

Esme saved the big gun from their engagement shoot right for the end!!

Later in the day we had yet another confetti moment which was made even more special by the fact that Esme’s Mum had handmade ALL 160 bags of confetti. Esme had said to me that she knew she wanted as many moments of confetti on her wedding day as possible, and WOW was this a confetti shower and a half!

Moments that made us ROFL – well eventually 🤣

Esme won’t thank me for reminding her of this moment but as she showed off her ring to guests, she accidentally dropped it down the decking boards 😮😮😮!

We thought she might never see it again, at least until the venue staff at Venachar Lochside would be able to have them lifted.

But thankfully one of her guests managed to save the day by reaching it with some wire. It made for some interesting photos of bottoms whilst they looked for it and some great images of the celebration when they retrieved it, yay! 🤣🤣🤣

Best parts about working at Venachar Lochside

Boujee cabins, hot tubs, fire pits and  surrounded by the most beautiful scenery this venue has plenty of photo ops!

The wedding ran super smoothly (thanks to the friendly staff at Venachar Lochside), and the food from the chef was outstanding!! Dare I say the best meal I may have ever had at a wedding, and I eat a lot of those! So if you are a foodie, this is deffo one to check out!

Dance floor vibes at Venachar Lochside

No cake cutting for this couple, but instead had a giant 500 profiterole croquembouche which everyone tucked into as dancing commenced! Hows that for an alternative to a cake, woah!!

The band set the night off to a phenomenal start, as Owen and his groomsmen made their appearance in their awesome outfit change. I have to say Owen by far has pulled the best shapes I have ever seen. So if there was an award for most fun Groom on the dancefloor – Owen, it’s all yours!!

Trends I loved from this wedding at Venachar Lochside

Well, Esme & Owen don’t exactly follow trends, they set them!! But some of my favourites have to be…

⚡️all the epic outfit changes

⚡️and the disco ball and sequin decor

Fun Photos that Esme & Owen chose to include:

✌️Obvi, tons of epic confetti shots!!

✌️ Group shots with a twist – no boring and stiff formals when working with me

✌️Confetti canon madness

✌️And lastly smoke bombs – because sometimes you gotta just do it for the ‘gram!!!
