Drumossie Hotel was the perfect setting for this rustic style wedding in Inverness

It’s always a very flattering compliment when a fellow photographer chooses you to capture their wedding day. An honour I take very seriously, as with all my couples. I always feel so special when people connect with my work and the way I love to capture a wedding day. Colin and Lynsey (who is an incredibly talented newborn photographer – check her out at Bluemoon Portraits if you’re looking for a photographer in Dingwall) tied the knot in March with their closest friends and family attending their afternoon ceremony. It was a super chilled out morning where Lynsey shared incredibly thoughtful gifts with her bridemaids (check out the adorable toast keyrings, which I nearly stole and did indeed have a story behind them “bread-friends”! 🥹) and we set up a super sweet dress reveal with her sons (just look at their faces 😭❤️).

It was my first time visiting Drumossie Hotel, Inverness and it was such a beautiful setting. The ceremony room was airy and bright and doubled in size for the evening reception, great if you’re having a bigger party like Lynsey and Colin did.

After their ceremony we set up a cute confetti line and as per their request we banged out the group shots as quickly as possible so they could enjoy their celebrations with the fam. Group shots can be completely pain free and they don’t have to take hours on end. It’s all about the planning that goes into it beforehand, and thankfully we managed to nail down the list and kept those required nice and close by! It was super fun and lighthearted and we even included the family pooch!

Their couple portraits were kept fun too with a short walk with the dog, a wee bit of a dancing and a champagne spray just before dinner. Lynsey had told me, and I quote “Colin is super shy”…well I don’t believe a word of it! He was posing away and enjoying himself and these guys absolutely smashed it out of the park with their couples portraits. Their love for one another was utterly adorable and so unique and fun! Their humour and silliness was simply infectious and you could tell how loved they were by everyone. It was an absolute joy to photograph the blending of their families.
