Check out this Aberdeen Wedding photographer’s list of her Top 10 Wedding Venues in Aberdeenshire. With a great mix of different styles of venues, you are bound to find something to fall in love with or at least to get you started on your journey of finding the one!

1.Aswanley

If you’re looking for a secluded venue, with breathtaking views and you love of a bit of rustic charm – you are bound to love Aswanley. A beautiful Scottish wedding venue located on the edge of the Grampian Highlands in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. Whether you choose to marry in the gorgeous Victorian barn or opt for the gorgeous outdoors, your guests are sure to love what they see in this stunning Aberdeenshire wedding venue. Aswanley is suitable for both intimate family gatherings and larger wedding parties, and the venue is the perfect blank canvas for those who want to keep it simple and allow the venue’s charm to speak for itself. Personalise the venue yourself, or make use of chairs, tables, and much more which can all be supplied by the venue. This venue should be on your must-see list!

2.Coos Cathderal

This seriously impressive venue, formerly a shed for pedigree cattle, will blow you away. The Coos Cathedral is one of my favourite exclusive hire wedding venues in Aberdeenshire, located in the heart of Royal Deeside. Offering a mass of gorgeous outdoor scenes and a large open space indoors, it is great for large weddings. You don’t have to venture far for a stunning backdrop for photos, and the interior is simple and bright, allowing you to put your spin on styling. One thing to bear in mind – there is no accommodation on site, so you may have to look into transport for guests. A gorgeous local B&B to check out would be – INSERT HERE, perfect for bridal prep and guests!

3.Ballogie House

Another awesome exclusive hire venue in Aberdeenshire, Ballogie House, in Aboyne, gives some serious Scottish vibes. The surroundings are epic but even when Mother Nature gives us the moodiest of days, Ballogie always has a certain romantic and tranquil feeling that just can’t be beat. Suitable for more intimate gatherings, with enough accommodation to sleep your bridal party. As a couple, you can enjoy a 4-night stay. Some choose to have the first night alone in the house to settle in, bring their bridal party the next day, marry on the next, and have the last day to nurse the hangover! Sounds perfect! Nearby accommodation to consider for guests would be Potartch Lodge, which sleeps 14 guests. You have the option to marry inside the marquee, outdoors, or in the gorgeous bright Orangery room – which is also an ideal area for bridal prep or an intimate candle-lit dinner in the evening. Get yourselves an awesome DJ or Saxophonist and live out the ultimate House party vibes. 😎

4.Elrick House

Elrick House has been recently transformed into a very stylish exclusive hire wedding venue in Aberdeenshire, just on the outskirts of Newmachar. With enough room to sleep 22 people, and plenty of outdoor space to put out additional accommodation (think teepee tents for glamping!), this venue is suitable for both intimate and large weddings. The stunning Barnquee is bright and airy, with a cool bar area, and plenty of space to set up your dining tables at the other end. There is also a walled garden, which I am sure will be stunning in the Spring, summer, and autumn months, and another ideal area for having photos taken. Another venue that can be styled to the nines, or left very minimal and it will still wow your guests! One thing to note – this venue is not dog-friendly (cry!). But you can still have your dog come along for photos – check out Julie at Spotlessly Chic, who offers luxury dog services and is the perfect dog sitter for your wedding day! If you view this venue you will quickly understand why it is on my list of Top 10 Wedding Venues in Aberdeenshire.

5.Cluny Castle

Princess vibes much – who wouldn’t want to get married in a Scottish Castle such as Cluny Castle?! This beautiful Scottish Castle wedding venue screams elegant, sophisticated, and modern-day fairytale. Imagine saying your vows in a Chapel with large stained-glass windows, dark oak pews, and enough seating for 100 guests, then walking down the aisle to a confetti throw on that gorgeous lawn. This venue is hidden from view, totally secluded, and guarantees no gate crashers as it is an exclusive hire wedding venue in Aberdeenshire. Plenty of room to sleep your bridal party, but you might want to consider transport options for additional guests. Another venue to add to your must-see list!

6.Logie House

This impressive exclusive-use venue sleeps 40-50 people, and has several hot tubs and even a pool. Need I say more?! At Logie House, you can enjoy either a 2-day mid-week stay or a 3-day weekend stay, making this the venue to allow you to fully milk the wedding experience and make the most of your time with friends and family. AND it’s dog friendly – yippee!! With a gorgeous large lawn that leads down to River Urie, a cute little foot bridge, and a quaint courtyard, you’ll never be short of awesome locations for photos. And if you have ever dreamed of getting married abroad, this venue might just give you that vibe!

7.Raemoir House

Married in a mansion?! Yes, please!! Raemoir House can comfortably seat 70-day guests, so it is great for more intimate to medium-sized weddings. And, there are 16 bedrooms so plenty of room for your closest family and friends to settle in with you for a few days. With space to lounge in front of a roaring fireplace or socialise in their quaint bar area, your guests will love spending the day and evening with you in this beautiful Georgian House. This venue also gets bonus points for being dog-friendly!

8.Douneside House

Douneside House, situated in Tarland, Aboyne, offers two wedding packages – One which is suitable for smaller weddings with up to 14 guests in their Library or larger weddings that can have exclusive use of the venue with enough rooms to sleep 56 guests. Large lawns, beautiful views, and surroundings give the ultimate tranquil escape for you and your guests to enjoy. There is also an awesome health club on site, with a pool, sauna, and gym. So if you’re looking to plan a more intimate gathering and enjoy the ultimate escape, you should check out Douneside House!

9.Schivas Steading

At The Schivas Steading you can enjoy the best of both worlds, with a rustic yet modern steading conversion over two floors and the use of the more traditional Schivas House and walled garden, located just a short drive away for photos and a little moment to yourself. Natural light floods the steading during your ceremony with a large glass wall and there is plenty of space upstairs for all your tables to be set up in advance of your dinner. Great for couples who want to put the finishing touches to their decor in the days leading up to their wedding. There is on-site accommodation, for immediate family or bridal party, great for morning prep. And additional accommodation is available just a short drive away. Located just a few miles out of Methlick, this venue is high on my list of Top 10 Wedding Venues in Aberdeenshire.

10.Maryculter House Hotel

If you’re looking for somewhere with breathtaking views, an option for both outdoor and indoor ceremony spaces, and a place that all your guests can stay too, you might want to check out the gorgeous Maryculter House Hotel, situated on the banks of River Dee. The beautiful courtyard offers a great space for your guests to mingle outdoors, it’s a great spot for confetti or even for sparklers in the evening, and although this is not an exclusive hire venue, it feels like you have your own uninterrupted space to enjoy your wedding in private. One of my favourite things about this venue is the gorgeous surroundings, so if a beautiful backdrop is your thing – check it out!

And that about rounds it up from me folks!
