Boho woodland wedding at Banchory Lodge Hotel, Scotland

Banchory Lodge Hotel sits right beside river Dee, and is an epic spot for nature loving couples.

There is so much to love about this venue – for starters their food is delicious (the meals I have at the venue are always bang on) and they are dog friendly too – so you know I’m gonna give them bonus points for that 🐶 💕)!

Banchory Lodge Hotel has great options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies, so no matter the weather you will have stunning pics from your ceremony! Rachel and Danny got married indoors, with a showstopper of an arch as the focal point for their wedding ceremony.

It was super important to Rachel and Danny (a fun boho loving couple) to feel relaxed and unposed for their photos – so to get them warmed up and feeling their best selves in front of the camera I took them for a wee stroll along the river, with just enough direction from me to allow those natural moments to unfold.

This was a wonderful moment for them to soak up after their wedding ceremony and it also gave me a chance to capture some gorgeous moments of the two of them together!

There was no one watching so it was lovely for them to relax with the privacy of the surrounding woodland. I always tell my couples this time alone may well be their favourite part of their day.

On the grounds of the venue is a cute horse box (called the fox box), and was an incredible spot for their drinks reception. With lush green lawn and plenty of seating it’s a great area for your guests to mingle and also means everyone is nice and close by for group pics, instead of everyone running off to the bar (if you have read my post about group shots – you will know why this is such a perk)

The dance floor was filled from the moment the tunes started, and Rachel and Danny’s guests did not disappoint!

To round off the evening we heading outdoors for some more fun and laid back pictures as a couple, which was such a high to end the night on!
