Kieran & Megan’s Coos Cathedral Wedding was unlike anything I’ve ever photographed — because it was part of Love Is Blind UK Season 2… and yes, it was just as surreal as it sounds. 🫠✨
When I got the call asking if I’d photograph the weddings for the show, I genuinely had to read the email twice. Me? On a Netflix set? At Coos Cathedral? Say less. I was IN. 🎥💃
But what made this Coos Cathedral Wedding even more special wasn’t the cameras… it was Kieran & Megan.
And trust me when I say – the spark? Immediate. Obvious. Electric. ⚡
Photographing A Coos Cathedral Wedding For Love Is Blind UK 🎬
Being hired to photograph weddings for Love Is Blind UK was equal parts honour and adrenaline rush.
Here’s the twist though…
I had:
- ❌ Never met the couples
- ❌ No timeline
- ❌ No family group shot list
- ❌ No idea what their connection was like in real life
- ❌ No clue if it would be an “I do” or “I don’t”
Just vibes. Cameras. And absolute trust in my ability to read the room.
And honestly? I LOVED the challenge.
It forced me into pure documentary mode – reacting, anticipating, watching body language, capturing micro-moments. It was raw, fast-paced and completely unpredictable.
Exactly the kind of chaos I thrive in. 😉
The First Look Down The Aisle At Coos Cathedral 💒
The first time I saw Kieran & Megan together was when Megan walked down the aisle at Coos Cathedral.
And I swear – the second their eyes locked? I knew.
This was going to be an “I do.”
You could feel it. The way he looked at her. The way she softened when she saw him. Two peas in a pod. Same energy. Same frequency. Completely locked in. 🫶
As a wedding photographer, you learn to read people quickly – and these two were a literal match made in heaven.
No awkward tension. No hesitation. Just spark. Instantaneous and undeniable.
Behind The Scenes: Shooting A Wedding On A Netflix Set 🎥✨
Let’s talk about the madness (in the best way).
Filming a wedding for Netflix means:
🎬 Multiple camera operators
🎤 Audio teams
💡 Lighting crews
📋 Producers everywhere
⏱ Timelines that change in seconds
And somehow, I had to float through it all capturing authentic, natural wedding photos that still felt intimate and emotional.
It honestly felt like being part of a tiny wedding army. And I LOVED being part of the crew. Everyone was so welcoming, collaborative and calm under pressure.
Shooting a Coos Cathedral Wedding in that environment taught me so much about adaptability, confidence and trusting instinct.
No control. No prep. Just presence.
Why This Coos Cathedral Wedding Meant So Much To Me 🧡
Of course, the Netflix element was exciting.
But what really stayed with me was witnessing something real unfold in real time.
Reality TV aside – Kieran & Megan’s connection felt grounded. Warm. Certain.
When Megan reached him at the end of that aisle, there was this quiet moment of “oh, it’s you.”
And I live for those moments. 🥹
That’s what wedding photography is about – reading energy, spotting micro-expressions, anticipating tears before they fall.
This Coos Cathedral Wedding reminded me that no matter the scale – backyard wedding or Netflix production – the heart of it is always the same:
Two people choosing each other.
✨ Special shoutout to my incredible second shooter, Louise ✨
Louise was an absolute rock on the day – photographing the boys in the morning, helping keep everything running smoothly, and just being all-round amazing. From capturing emotional moments to offering support (and so many laughs), she’s not only a brilliant photographer but a true friend. I couldn’t have done this day without her 💛📸
